Here is a gem!

I know a lot of people find it very difficult to work with and understand correlation analysis. The purpose of this page is to guide you through correlation and the correlation matrix using Excel. There is a video and what I have called the student’s version of the working file. This student’s file encourages you to do what I did in the video: practise makes perfect!

In the video and the Excel file you will see or you will prepare the following analyses. I show here perfect positive and perfect negative correlation using perfectly linear data. I show perfectly correlated data that are not taken from perfectly linear data and I show examples where correlation is not perfectly positive or negative but somewhere in between:

If correlation has been a mystery until now, you should find this video and Excel file very helpful for you.
